The Yasaka Shining Dragon is softer than the Rising Dragon, which is why it has better control for variation. The combination of good speed, control, and spin makes this a formidable weapon in the right hands.

YSD has features of Chinese 'tacky'/'grip' with a bit of Euro 'soft'/'responsive'; works well for those who find Chinese rubbers too 'dead' and Euro rubbers too responsive. YSD is like a 'nice blend'.

Bought this as it was rated similar to Razka 7 Soft, but slightly spinnier. The rubber is very tacky in comparison and plays at least five to ten points slower. Has better dwell time, great control and great spin but still can chop with control. For many, it may be a better backhand rubber, but I have changed to both sides.

It’s supposed to be a Hurricane with a more dynamic and softer sponge. I find it inconsistent sometimes. Good thing it’s light and lively, like a lightly tuned H3. Bad thing is it’s not worth the price, I play better with a normal Hurricane with two layers of Falco.

This rubber has very similar characteristics with its predecessor, the Rising Dragon, but with significant improvements on speed and control. Perfect for FH. I use the max thickness sponge/blue sponge, on a Yasaka Dynamix 17 and it is outrageously awesome. Great for counter-spinning and looping and it produces heavy and consistent spins on serves. Highly recommended for offensive players.
