This was my first pips-out rubber. To get the advantages of short pips ie hitting through spin and attacking more at the table, I found it best to change my technique from smooth rubber. Degu makes it reasonably easy as it is spinny and not too fast, so you can get away with a sort of halfway house technique. Very light, even in 2.0mm. Nice rubber, recommended, but do not expect it to cause disruption. You will get some sink if you drive/punch in a certain way but it doesn't happen too often for me!

Все индивидуально, необходимо подбирать накладки под стиль игры.

Not much experience with short pips. Wanted to try something that I can smash with my FH close to the table. Didn't really work for me, not that fast that I expected, but has very good control on the back-hand when blocking or driving, not sensitive to spin so pushes are very easy to execute, which helped me to beat the best Long Pimples defender in our Club. When playing with normal inverted rubber usually making a bit more mistakes, when not ready to top-spin and need to push ball back. Newer the less, not going to switch to 'Degu', I have pretty good backhand playing with Tenergy 05 on BH and not going to give up that. In terms of Short Pips, may be need something quicker for my FH to continue my experiment.

Play with smooth rubber mostly. Tried this rubber played well, but gain some things and lose others with this rubber. I feel that someone who plays with short pips would be better to review this.

-- i have spinlord waran fh and spinlord degu bh on SpinLord Defender NEW
-- via that combination you play with high confidence , you can do every things Blocking, chopping, powerful shots and aggressive spin – almost everything is possible with that combination
--Spinlord Degu bh more slower than waran best one for bh you can put the ball anywhere on the table serve return so easy
-- Spinlord Waran fh more fast more spiny rally magic rubber

Black, 2.0 on Tibhar Stratus PW on BH. Very easy to play. Good speed, enough spin. Not sensetive to incoming spin at all, spin serves return is very stable. For attack under the table. Good chop.

I used the 1.8mm sponge on the michael maze blade. High throw for short pimples. This is a good rubber for the eased transition from inverted to short pimples. Attacking and blocking is good.

Great short pips. Great control and smashes. Tried it on with my Senkoh5 blade at 1.8mm. Managed to thrash all my rivals at first match with this blade-rubber combination. Fast attack and taking away timing from opponent is key. Not really a fully modern game, however, more than enough to thrash high/mid level amateurs(even easier with good footwork!). Meant to end rally as soon as possible by shaking them right/left. Love to emulate the 1988 Korean finalists (Kitaek Kim, HyunjungHwa).

Use 1.5 on BH, need to lower your right shoulder and flat racket for blocking. Typical position. Rubber easy to use. BH topspip, Need to let the ball come into your body and hit with more effort. Chop block and chopping produces a low shot.

Used on FH, chop block come over the net low. When smashing, you have to hit it flat. Not any different than other short pips. Loops are slow and not that skinny. I play with 1.5 mm, need to wait for the ball to come down to net level or hit the top spin right after the bounce with a flat stroke.

Degu has large, short pips. Blocks easy. Hitting the ball early and at the top of bounce at net height one can produce good returns and shots. Cannot be late with this rubber. Hitting close to the table one can produce very good flip returns of short serves. As with all short pips if you late or expect to hit the ball on the drop it is difficult. One can chop with this rubber off the table with considerable side spin. I bought the 1.5 mm width and flip the blade and use it for both BH and FH drives. Serves take effort but can be done.

I love this rubber. It's fast, very good spin and control, deceptive. Before it I played with Stiga Radical which produced much trouble for opponents but was hard to play and lack of speed. I'd say Degu is Radical on steroids.
The only thing, original version with yellow sponge was even better than red sponge version.

Had a successful season using Double Fish 820A on my forehand (on a very old but reliable Hans Alser offensive blade) but always prepared to try something different that might give me an extra edge. Degu is a decent rubber and does pretty much what it says it will do - but I didn't feel it gave me anything extra compared to the 820A. My regular practice partner preferred the Degu - but only because he found it easier to return my attacks/counter hits compared to the 820A. Will stick with Degu for the time being but suspect I'll be back to the 820A by the time our season starts.
