Modern defenders like the great Japanese talent, Yuto Muramatsu, will take every opportunity to launch sudden counter-attacks from a safe defensive position. The Koji Matsushita Offensive is the ideal blade for this type of players who rely on excellent control for defensive playing, but need good speed for their own attacking. The 5-ply design with a slightly harder outer mahogany ply provides for outstanding power second-to-none in the defensive blade segment, and gives any defender all the precision and control they need for passive playing. All blades of the VICTAS Koji Matsushita series are hand-made in our Japanese blade workshop. HEADSIZE：165×155 mm MADE IN JAPAN

Quality

The new blade is much heavier and feels less stiff than the previous version. This may just be a result of the particular blades I received and not a general trend in old vs. new, or it may very well be a general trend.

The blade itself is as solidly constructed -- plays uniformly well. It is however a different experience playing with it than with the previous version of VKMO. More spin (more dwell time due to the flex) and speed (probably because its heavier) on loops -- less control on defense. So it plays far more offensive. Unless my new blade is just an outlier -- this blade is not similar to the previous version.
