Rubber type : antispin
he perfect Anti-Spin combination between spin reversal and control BUFFALO provides highly interesting playing characteristics thanks to a completely new rubber composition. A long and tedious development program finally enabled us to combine the strong points of all our existing Anti-Spin rubbers. This results in an exciting new rubber that will set a new benchmark both for control and disruptive effect. BUFFALO produces excellent spin reversal while blocking against topspin shots with a lot of rotation thanks to its completely frictionless surface. Also control was decisively enhanced to ensure safe and disruptive blocking close to the table. In that regard BUFFALO can be considered as an alternative to our old frictionless long pimple rubbers especially as far as spin reversal is concerned. Furthermore BUFFALO enables to produce deceptive attacking shots. The most effective technique is aggressive pushing on chopped balls but counter-attacking against float balls will also put pressure on your opponent. All in all BUFFALO is a fantastic weapon for blocking close to the table – try it out! Available with dampening sponge with the following thickness: 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8mm The version with 1.8mm is the slowest, while 1.2mm will produce the best spin reversal. The 1.5mm sponge version is a very good compromise.

06/10/2016 Lasted for a week then gone bad Review by Gan Li
Quality
I bought a Buffalo 1.5mm red on a Dr Neubauer Matador. I am a long time long pips/anti player. The Buffalo plays as advertised. The spin reversal is much greater than that GD Talon 0X on a Firewall Plus. The Buffalo provides much less friction than pips and there is no need to worry about bending pips resulting in extra friction. Buffalo always have little or no effect on incoming spin. It also absorbs impacts better too yet the top sheet restores itself to normal unlike GD Guard where it is possible to see the dimple left by the ball for a while. One thing I did need to adjust for is that when returning heavy under spin pushes I had to open the paddle a little more and punch the ball harder. This is not because of friction but rather the lack of it. The incoming bottom spin became my top spin so the ball would drop quickly due to the Magnus effect. This is good as long as the ball is hit hard enough to get over the net before the ball drops. One must take advantage of the ability to push back back spin balls aggressively. Opponents will lose a few games before they figure out how to play against this anti.

On the down side there is little offensive capability because there is no ability to change the spin on the ball. Only line of sight flat hits are possible. One must learn to twiddle or step around the ball to use the forehand. Flat hit balls will tend to curve due to incoming spin and the Magnus effect.

My Buffalo worked great for about a week. Then it started to bubble. There is a pattern on the top sheet of the Buffalo that follows the hex pattern of the pips. I think the pips have separated from the top sheet or sponge in these places. I can feel slight differences where the bubbling or separations has occurred. I would give Buffalo a 0 for durability.

Note: I was on a business trip to China for 2.5 weeks while the survey email arrived. I just returned to the US a couple days ago to respond to the survey now.

Recommends close table playing.
11/11/2015 wrinkles Review by antispin fan

I glued the rubber on my blade and played with it a few sessions. It is friction-less.

after a week, I tried to remove the rubber from my blade carefully like I did with my other rubbers.... guess what, it had wrinkle marks on the top sheet surface. Also , top sheet breaks out from the sponge quite easily.

what is going on? I hope for a better quality and durable rubber from Dr.Neaubauer but price just not justify the quality. I am upset.
