I play 4 times per week. Each session is 2-3 hours against players. Usually 5-8 matches per session with a 30 minute practice before matches. I am an intermediate USA player 1600 rating that twiddles. Block and side siping are spot on and controlled. You can place your blocks and side sipes. Chop block is another strength. Two types of durability for long pips. Pips fall off or pips become worn and/or breakdown. I have found that these pips breakdown and need to be replaced after a month or two of play. I have these pips on a Chen Weixing blade with Dignics 2.1 O9c on the forehand. Recently won several matches against players rated between USA 17-1900.

Very dangerous Pimple! It’s more difficult to play than Grass d.Tecs but it’s also more difficult for your opponent to play against.. the trajectory is very flat, it’s very deceptive and the spin reversal is also very good!

Good allround long pip and high disruption. It is not blade-sensitive and I found it worked well on all blades I used. Wood, carbon, slow, fast, etc.
If you want to keep the tacky grip, clean with normal bat cleaner spray.

I have tried many long pips OX rubbers, and Dornenglanz is really one of the best in terms of disturbance, reversing the spin, making the opponent give you back a ball high over the net and easy to attach with the forehand. Second only to Hellfire X.

Play it in OX. Good reversal and speed. But it is a little bit hard to control the table for me (comparing to Hellfire for example). Maybe I am just not good enough for it. But it's the best one for that price definitely.

I have been playing BH with the Donic Piranha of for many years, for a change I tried the Spinlord Dornenglanz OX which is not as difficult for the opponent to return the ball. Of course you can block good and place the ball better but without being difficult to the opponents. However, I will try it longer to find out more of its characteristics.

I have been a OX Long Pips backhand player for about 20 yrs now. First they took away the friction-less pips, then along came the 40mm ball, and now the 40+ mm plastic ball. Each one of those moves had a direct affect on my game. I lost about 250 rating points before it was over. I have tried so many LPs. There are very few that I have not tried. I use my robot to evaluate spin "reversal" and other characteristics. Dornenglanz is the best compared to other LPs on the market. Other LPs may be better if hitting is you major goal. But Dornenglanz is so good at control and reversal that I am afraid they will make it illegal. Vary you grip from strong to light and then just block and watch your opponents make errors. You can also do other things with this rubber depending on your technique. The pip savy people who have played me for years are frustrated so I know it is very confusing.

Very good underspin and above average control when blocking and pushing. Too bad the pips are so easily broken. 43 pips in 2 months and yet I like the rubber so much I'll accept the replacement cost and continue to use it.

For me it's a great rubber. I play with JsH blade wiith tenergy 05 and dornenglanz red ox. The blade it's the ideal for the rubber. Fairways of the table it's the rubber with more reverse. On the table good for block. But every day you find another trick that the rubber can do. As I play far of the table the reverse it's massive.

I have played several highly thought of long pips (Curl P-1 and P-H, Super Block, Original, 388D-1, Feint, and C8) over the past four years and I have finally found the one best for me. TSP Dornenglanz has quickly become my favorite because: 1) returns with this "Radiant Thorn" are by far the most consistent of the LP's I have played with. I always know what I'm going to get when I chop or push. 2) Dornenglanz's low, short returns, spin reversal, and bottom spin on pushes do the best job protecting me from my opponent's attacks. I'm always amazed how many of my opponent's returns go into the net or long off the table. 3) I have a very weak backhand attack game but with Dornenglanz I can attack with my backhand when the right situation occurs because of its short, low throw. Contrary to other reviews, I have NOT lost any pips but I only play twice a week. As far as Tabletennis11 is concerned, I have ordered from all over the world (Australia, Malaysia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Britain and of course a number of sites in the US and I would rank Tabletennis11 #1. I have NO complaints and only good things to say about this Estonian company. Give them a try, I think you will be very pleased.

Excellent rubber when you play chop block close to the table, if you loosen your hand, everything goes back to the table. When I added two more layers of glue so it would be like i have a little bit of spounge, chopping behind the table is also good.

Let me explain my rating of "Quality." The rubber isn't the most durable LP on the market, but the performance is one of the best. For push blocking, the spin reversal is incredible, and the balls sent back are dangerous. Very dangerous. This is also one of the best OX chopping rubbers. Again, the underspin generated is nuts, and you CAN actually increase or add to the spin. The tips are slightly tacky, and with good technique you can manipulate the spin a fair bit. Not like sponged P-1R, but as good as any OX rubber.

For reviews, there should be separate criteria of Performance and Durability. BEST LPs on the market in terms of performance for allaround play (ie both blocking and chopping). Doesn't last long, but this is an understood and expected issue with the rubber as it's thin pips are the reason for it's unique abilities.

I've enjoyed what this rubber offers those who play against me. I find the quality of this rubber to be weak. Five (5) pips have fallen off the center of this rubber, disqualifying it for use in a USATT seniors tournament I will be in next month. I will have to replace it with a less expensive rubber with limited wobble-effect.

I like this rubber a lot. To me it's much better than either Dtecs or GD Talon. Good combination of deceptiveness, reversal and control. Having said that, durability is horrible! Two months of 5 hours a week training and I've already lost a bunch of pips in the middle. I've decided to stick with it for now as I don't know if anything comparable available at this point.
