15/03/2024 Good Jpen Blade Review by davidz
Quality
I recently experimented with this Jpen Hinoki blade for the first time. My blade weighs 82g, with a sound frequency of 2K. It offers a soft feel and impressive control, despite its slim 9mm Hinoki wood construction. While it isn't very fast, it bears similarities to my favored XIOM Zeter Quad blade.

Wanting to put a long pimple rubber to the backside, I opted to remove softwood on the backside. Unfortunately, this adjustment led to a decrease in speed. To compensate and provide more support, I applied three layers of "DONIC table tennis blade sealing FORMULA LACQUER" solely to the backside of the Jpen (No need to seal the front side for feeling).

This application resulted in an increase in blade speed, because of reduction in soft feeling and dwell time. The lacquer can be easily removed using acetone if needed. This method eliminates the necessity of purchasing a thicker (10-11mm) Hinoki blade, saving both time and money. Please note lacquer would change the blade playing characteristics.

21/09/2023 One ply hinoki but has shorter handle and balance is unusual Review by Jpen Player
Quality
I bought this lighter one ply hinoki to try rpb on a jpen blade. I used H3 and 729 SS to keep total weight low. 145gms compared to regular hinoki jpen (single side) at 145. I find the balance a bit too heavy yet I don't have enough power in smashes. Could be the H3? Or bat design? Could TT11 please create a jpen forum where people could reply to posts? This appears to be the only place for jpen sales in Europe so must concentrate interest
12/05/2023 Balanced easy Jpen for newbies Review by Gianmarco Bevacqua
Quality
Quality as expected from NITTAKU, blade similar in size and shape to Cpen blades, i used it to convert traditional Jpen for RPB use. Being also reasonably light helped to use two rubbers. Nice feeling when hitting top spin drives still with amazing control. Not the fastest ever but a very balanced and user friendly blade. Mid hard rubbers on FH recommended. Thanks to TT11 for stocking Jpen blades!!!
