This really cleans the rubber. I had always used warm water and sometimes soap when it was extra dirty, but it always looked sort of opaque afterwards. With this I do see an extra shine and the rubber is slightly tackier and softer again. The only downside of it is that it can be a bit oily for a little while so when you're playing during the first few minutes things can get sort of slippery, especially if you're penholder like me.
