Number of Layers : 7
approximate weight (g) : 92
Blade Type : OFF
thickness (mm) : 6.4
The Fortius, made by the Japanese brand Mizuno, is a classical offensive blade with a seven-layer veneer structure. The blade is slightly top-heavy and thus particularly suited for topspin-oriented attackers. The veneer structure, and particularly the combination of medium-hard and hard veneers is very well-made, resulting in very good speed characteristics. High-rotation opening topspin strokes can be played just as well as fast topspin strokes or hitting. The blade’s quality is flawless, just as we know it already from Mizuno’s shoes. The Fortius is very well-manufactured and has no edges that could disturb the game experience. We recommend this blade to classical attacking players.

15/01/2018 I own 2 of them! Review by Gerald Carmack
Quality
For the price it is not a mistake! The handle finish feels better in the hand than 95 percent of the blades on the market no matter the cost! These Fortius blades are heavy and a large variation of 2 or 3 grams exists between the two blades that I own! One blade has Tenergy 05 rubbers on both sides, the other, Tibhar MX-P rubbers on both sides. I prefer the Tenergy 05 set up. My MX-P rubbers are on the lighter of the two blades. In my opinion, the MX-P rubbers did a lot better on my Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon blade. I had Nittaku P-1 rubbers on this blade 6 months ago and found that gave me a lot of control. I also ran this blade with Tenergy 05 as a forehand rubber and Nittaku P-1 as a backhand rubber. The combination Nittaku P-1 and Tenergy 05 on the Fortius blade gave me a great blocking game. Really great Block-Block-Block-Attack patterns. Block-Attack-Block-Cross Block to score patterns.... Also, this is a great blade for serving all around! A lot of service aces using the weight of the blade.

Paired this blade with Donic Bluefire M2 for both BH & FH. Performed ok, but I have changed blade since then.... Can´t but my finger on any particular downsides, it was just my feeling that not was right for this product.
