Handle halves had different depth. Varnished surface was uneven with several sharp drops. Balsa core consists of many parts.
After a modest contact with the table this blade splintered in glued layer between top plies and core. - 24/12/2018 Super Review by Oleg Spivacov

Besides Matador Texa Balsa, I also have the original Matador paired with Tibhar Evolution MX-P (Max) and Dawei 388D-1 Provincial (OX). While Matador is not as powerful as Matador Texa Balsa, it has the advantage of being easier to block balls with LP OX rubbers so that the balls will double bounce on the table thus making them hard to attack. I would like to suggest a modified version of Matador Texa Balsa with fiber material on one side for looping, and no fiber material on the other side for blocking short with LP OX rubbers. Some people will find this modified version very attractive.
