MATADOR (OFF-) and MATADOR TEXA (OFF) have set a new benchmark in terms of efficacy with pimple-out and Anti-Spin rubbers, they are world-wide best sellers among offensive combination bat players. MATADOR TEXA BALSA comes with the same composition as MATADOR TEXA including synthetic material layers however its balsa core provides a slightly softer touch. This makes it a good alternative for combination bat players seeking high speed, very good efficacy with pips-out and Anti-Spin rubbers and a little less rigid plywood composition with more control. Unlike regular balsa blades, MATADOR TEXA BALSA does not come with the typical balsa feeling on account of the carbon-like material used and hard outer plies, ensuring high speed and very good spin for a modern topspin game.

04/10/2023 Goot for hitting Review by Toni Cirstea
Quality
It has a huge hot spot, is very elastic/repulsive, it is dificult to impart strong spin, as i said is good for hitting, works well with pips, but for spin only chinesse tacky rubbers works well with the right motion, otherwise the rubber needs to be soft, with thin topsheet and large/big sponge to be able to impart spin. The feeling when hitting is like HL5, the angle, the feeling is more in the handle, which is better than hurricane long 5. If you want a clone of HL5, with less spin, and good for pips than this is your blade.
24/06/2021 Great blade for a decent price Review by Anton Kukeste
Quality
Feels good in the hand, pretty fast and stable. Used Dr.Neubauer A-B-S 2 Evo (2.3) on the backhand side that is specially sealed for use with rubbers like Antispin or OX pips and on forehand Victas Triple Regular(1.8) (hybrid rubber with grippy topsheet and soft sponge). Love chopping with this blade and still is very sharp with all the attacking strokes. Overall very satisfied with the blade.
05/01/2019 Cheap and fragile Review by Aleks
Quality
Good spin, good feel, but build quality is very poor.

Handle halves had different depth. Varnished surface was uneven with several sharp drops. Balsa core consists of many parts.

After a modest contact with the table this blade splintered in glued layer between top plies and core.

17/12/2018 A Powerful Blade with Great Control and Feedback Review by John Kam
Quality
I paired my Dr.Neubauer Matador Texa Balsa blade with Tibhar Evolution MX-P (Max) and Globe Mo Wang 2 II (OX). I have many offensive blades. To my surprise, the combination of Dr.Neubauer Matador Texa Balsa blade with Tibhar Evolution MX-P (Max) offers the best combination of power, control and feedback of them all. I can loop and hit very well with that combination. Due to the bounciness of Matador Texa Balsa, it is difficult to block balls with long pips OX rubbers and have the balls double bounce on the table. It makes more sense to pair Matador Texa Balsa with offensive LP OX rubbers (e.g. Globe Mo Wang 2 II ) or LP rubbers with sponge to go for more offensive capability. Due to the power of Matador Texa Balsa, I can hit with LP OX rubbers for both forehand and backhand with much less effort than with other blades I have. Before Matador Texa Balsa, I found hitting forehand with LP OX rubbers exhausting.

Besides Matador Texa Balsa, I also have the original Matador paired with Tibhar Evolution MX-P (Max) and Dawei 388D-1 Provincial (OX). While Matador is not as powerful as Matador Texa Balsa, it has the advantage of being easier to block balls with LP OX rubbers so that the balls will double bounce on the table thus making them hard to attack. I would like to suggest a modified version of Matador Texa Balsa with fiber material on one side for looping, and no fiber material on the other side for blocking short with LP OX rubbers. Some people will find this modified version very attractive.
