MATADOR has proven to be a highly effective OFF- blade for pimple-out and Anti-Spin players. The new MATADOR TEXA is based on a similar plywood composition yet we have enhanced it with selected fiber material to reach a total of 9 plies. This results in a slightly faster blade with high power for a modern offensive game. Both fast topspin shots and high-rotation loop balls can be performed without any problem. At the same time MATADOR TEXA is highly effective in combination with pimple-out and Anti-Spin rubbers. The blade produces a low bounce both while blocking passively and while chop-blocking aggressively with long pimples. Just like with MATADOR, maximum spin reversal can be produced while blocking with our frictionless Anti-Spin rubbers. Despite the high speed of the blade it allows for very short blocking with this type of rubber. Finally the blades allows for a very dynamic attacking game with offensive pimple-out rubbers. MATADOR TEXA – A must have for maximum dynamics and efficacy

I have enjoyed playing with this blade so far. I would rate it as offensive, but some people may believe it is an offensive minus. So much also depends on the rubber that you put on the blade.

I have been using anti on the shiny side of the blade. The shiny side is the one with the extra coating that comes on the blade from the factory. The anti plays very well on this blade. The other side of the blade is not sealed, and it has plenty of speed as well. I feel that most players will feel that this blade has decent speed overall.

My only complaint with the blade is the weight. I have bought a few of these and the weight has been around 90-93 grams. Again, this comes down to personal preference though. Some people will ask for this weight. Personally, I prefer somewhere between 85m and 88 grams. This blade is advertised at 88 grams.

C est un bois offensif , le côté vernis est idéal pour les joueurs à picots longs. Cela fait 3 ans que je joue avec le matador texa et je ne suis pas prêt d en changer.
14/01/2020 A new way to play with pimples Review by MKB97

This blade is really dynamic as the description says, really, you can feel a unique feeling when you play with it. Actually I'm playing with Nittaku Moristo SP AX on FH and Victas V>15 Limber on BH, and it's surprising the feedback and the power you have with this blade, I mean, when you hit smoothly the ball, the ball goes very very smooth but when you hit hard the ball it goes really really fast. Its control is really good because you can place the ball where you want, you have a good sweet spot which will produce lots of spin even if you are using short pips like me. I have used blades as Samsonov Pro Black Edition, Donic Carbospeed, Stiga Infinity VPS and Xiom Stradivarius and I recommend the Matador Texa for those players who focus on spin, placement balls and play close the table or mid-distance, it's a really balanced blade, I'm staying with this blade! But be careful to don't hit the blade on the table cause it's quite fragile, really, smooth touch and it will have a big mark, add edge tape to avoid this problem and keep playing!

I am a bit surprised that a non-major brand manufacturer can produce such a good blade. It plays like a carbon, but feels like wood. Very good combination of speed and feel. The varnished side provide necessary trajectory for chop blocks for my anti.
The speed is solid OFF and easy to play with plastic balls. I switched from Korbel to Texa for now and I think I will stay with it.
