The Appelgren Dotec Control is a 7 ply blade, with a balsa core covered by a layer of Ayous wood, Dotec fiber, and Limba wood on either side. The most unique feature of this blade is the fact that the handle is carved out of a solid piece of wood. Covered with a soft layer of cork, it fully conforms to the anatomy of the wrist. This blade comes in two variants; right handed, and left handed. As the name would suggest this blade focuses on control. This makes it ideal for players with an allround game strategy. Donic's Dotec technology facilitates this by giving the player an excellent amount of control and feel for the ball.

At first, this blade might seem a bit weird due to the handle that is nothing like you've seen or felt on any other blade. The handle is very soft, so soft actually that you can literally squeeze it (which is awesome if you tend to hold your blade too firmly) and once you get used to it you will feel annoyed by any other blade and its sharp edges (there are none whatsoever here). I am using it with Tenergy 05 FX on my forehand and both control and the amount of spin I can generate are great, though you might say it is lacking a bit of speed – if you prefer a more offensive game I'd maybe look for some faster alternatives (e.g. Ovtscharov OFF). All in all, once my game is improved to a level where I feel comfortable enough, I'd definitely not look past the Dotec line and maybe go for the Waldner Carbon version.

I love the handle because it sits easy in the hand and the control is great. My only problem is the noise on hard shots. I also like the weight. I will never go to a blade over 70gms again.

Handle is made of cork and curved toward Palm, which does take time to get used of the ergo design. Blade is also light but with good response to ball. I personally like the touch and speed though of all around design. Tennis 111 has 2/3 price of Amazon and the blade assembled with high standard. Highly recommend them.
