Countering with this is very good as you can both send spinny shots with short strokes while positioning. It requires proper ball read however as the rubber can be unforgiving.

Been searching for a perfect backhand rubber, and although Mantra was close (but serves lacked spin) and the original Rasant was amazing (except it could not chop balls easily) and Victas V22 Double Extra did everything well (except it was far too heavy) I have been pleased with how well this rubber does everything with no drawbacks. Serve, push, block, opening topspin, flat hit and the occasional chop are all decent at my very much intermediate level.

It’s pricey, but I was going for quality and this is it. I use R42 as my backhand rubber, and I love it. At first I didn’t like how slow it was, but it has more gears than I thought it did. The spin is amazing, the control is great, and it’s good for looping backspin. I would recommend saving up some extra money for this rubber.

This rubber is sufficiently soft and has a good control. It works well at fast wood and carbon blades(Ovtcharov off+, Carbonado 190). It makes as a loops as a smashes with top rotation.

I was looking to go with a softer forehand rubber and initially tried the R45 there. I like the R42 even better by giving the ball more dwell time and spin. The R45 is faster so I use it on my backhand, but R42 is fast enough for my forehand . My forehand attacks are usually pretty strong so I don’t need the 10+ speed level there, I’m only about a 1600 level player.

I wanted to go with softer rubber on the forehand as I'm just an intermediate level. There's a larger trampoline effect than I'd like though. The ball has a tendancy to get sucked in then springs out. Not very forgiving. I used max thickness which probably contributed to this.

I purchased this as a replacement for Dignics 05 and Dignics 09c. D05's arc was too flat for my backhand and D09C was too heavy, making my setups too head heavy, plus these two rubbers are 2x or 3x the price of the R42 sometimes.
The R42 is a soft rubber. The arc it produces is higher when doing topspin and it is much more forgiving close to the net, where D09c and D05 lacks.
This rubber is not very reactive to incoming spin, so blocking is so easy.
If you pair this with an ALC blade you'll hear the pitch sound when it engages, which is so rewarding.
Long story short: I am really happy with the R42 for my backhand. It is what I needed. It is a better T05/D05 that Butterfly could not produce.

I was looking for a rubber for the BH of my Ch. Pen. It's not tacky rubber but still can make lots of spin. I like it. I prefer this over R47 because I like a slightly longer dwell time when creating a backhand drive. But if you are an advanced player, R47 can be also a good option.

For me, Rasaner R42 is the perfect backhand rubber. Great spin, control, and a decent amount of speed. Softer sponge, but not too soft. Seems to be pretty durable as well. Has a decent catapult effect, so might not be suitable for beginners. Have it on multiple blades in Max sponge thickness on the backhand side.

Relatively spinny, safe throw, too soft for flexy blades like Stiga Nost Off V. Worked great on a Viscaria knock-off. I would have 6-15 year-olds or all-around players play with this rubber. Works better as a BH than a FH for most. Not too sensitive to spin. Feels like a Fast Arc c-1 style but easier to spin with.

Easy go rubber for an all-round/OFF - player, good control, spin is decent. The new generation for the plastic ball is here. You can compare to any rubber at 42-degree which is for the plastic ball (like t05fx or Xiom Euro, Calibra Sound, etc)
It can generate a good amount of power while freshly glued. good reactivity and for me better than a R47, suits me better.
Good for close or mid-distance but lack of hardness disturb in long-distance rallies.

Very good. I have played with R47 for almost 2 years, so I wanted to test this one because my friend said that it was good. It was good, about the same speed, the speed was a bit less, but still fine because R47 is monster fast. A great rubber but I won't go lower than 42 degrees.

I am using the 2.0 sponge softer version of the R rasanter series on my backhand. Nice control, spin and decent power. It is forgiving my my all too often bad technique shots. It is not the spin monster that is T05. It is more forgiving. I could probably use it on my FH but I prefer a thicker or a little harder sponge there. Blocks, short game, serves are good.

This is a very good rubber, lots of spin,speed and control is great.I paired weith different blades such as; Garaydia ALC, Clipper CR WRB and Andro Temper Tech OFF-,Yasaka Sweeden Extra , all reacted great .Counter loop is an amazing factor that I love this rubber.
