The Swedish company was established in 1944 and has a rich tradition of building high-quality blades for champions like Hans Alsér, Stellan Bengtsson, and Ulf “Tickan” Carlsson who won numerous world championships in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s; the Swedish National Team who temporarily broke the Chinese dominance, winning three consecutive world team championships between 1989-1993; Jean-Michel Saive (1994 European Men’s singles champion); and Chinese legend Liu Guoliang who played with the Clipper blade when he won his Olympic titles in men’s singles and doubles in 1996 and became world men’s singles champion in 1999. STIGA also provides blades to current champions and World #1 players such as Xu Xin ... (10-time World champion, team events and doubles; 43-time ITTF world tour event winner), Fan Zhendong (4-time World champion in team events and doubles; 15-time ITTF world tour event winner), Chen Meng (3-time ITTF world tour grand finals winner; 23-time ITTF world tour event winner), Zhu Yuling (4-time World champion in team events and doubles; 11-time ITTF world tour event winner), as well as rising Swedish talents like Truls Möregårdh and David Björkryd. STIGA is renowned for building some of the finest blades directly at their headquarters in Eskilstuna, working in close collaboration with the Chinese National Team on continuously developing new blades and manufacturing technologies. Examples of outstanding blades include the Classic (Allround, Offensive, Clipper), VPS (Infinity, Eternity, Emerald), Hardwood (Ebenholz, Rosewood), and Nostalgic series, as well as composite blades such as the Carbonado series, Dynasty Carbon, and Legacy Carbon. STIGA also produces high-quality rubbers such as the DNA, Genesis, and Mantra series.
