The Septear Lead is a beautiful and well constructed blade with great feeling. It's position within the Septear series is somewhat different. While the original Septear is a high power OFF+ blade, the Septear Lead is OFF- even leaning on ALL+. The outer ply is hinoki wood making this blade highly controllable with plenty of power to end the point.

Quality

I have the J-pen version. Lots of control with this blade while still having plenty of speed, and super comfortable handle too. The fact that I go back and forth between this and my Darker Hinoki blade says something! On the J-pen blade, a slicker wood top layer is used instead of cork on either side of where the lower blade meets the handle—might be odd for a penholder at first, although I think it may be easier to generate spin on serves if a loose grip is used.
