This blade incorporates 2 basalt fiber plies between the middle and outer plies that give it a softer feeling and extra power. The expert craftsmanship and the unique materials used allow this blade to have significant dwell time to really load the ball with spin and enough propulsion to send the ball back with strong power. The outer layers of basalt fiber allow for extra speed on attacks close to the table.

23/01/2020 Very good blade and good value Review by Carlos Jian

I usually use a one-ply Hinoki blade, lots of flat hitting and so. I bought this blade( Balsatec) just for an experiment. It's very consistent, spinny, and good for those that like light blades.
Unfortunately, I go back to my one-ply hinoki for serious games, "competitions", because I m used to it, and it's more effective with my flat hitting.
Overall, it's a nice, unique blade, it all depends on the playing styles, and maybe the rubbers used as well.

I bought this blade last year, and the second one recently. It is excellent blade for closed to table play with fast attacking. very fast, nice sound and good control. The 3D handle is very comfortable to hold, and no need to sand it. Beautiful and high quality product. Like very much. Thank you tabletennis11 for your great service.

06/09/2014 A Superb Blade Review by Kwan Hung Lo
Quality
It has become the replacement of my one-ply/ multi-ply hinoki blades, as well as the plenty multi-ply blades I possess. It is much lighter and thinner than hinoki blades, thus having better control. However, by no means its speed is slower and loss explosive. I feel like using a one-ply hinoki blade when I loop and smash, such as Xiom Katana Platinum or Tibhar H-1-9. Control is better than the renowned Stiga blades, too, namely Rosewood XO, Intensity NCT, Intensity Carbon and Infinity VPS V which I have recently bought. Amongnst all my five dozen blades and the eight models I got from Tabletennis11 in the past three months, viz this one, the above six and a Donic Defplay Senso V3, Basaltec is definitely the best.

The blade, though of a Japanese brand, is actually made by Soulspin, a small German table tennis manufacturer. Soulspin is selling a similar Basaltec blade in their own brand name, but their actual price is higher than Tabletennis11 because the latter has a discount and a waiver of postage.

Besides quality, its outlook and craftsmanship are excellent. The only minor flaw is that it is a bit too pricey, but it is still much less unreasonable than the exotic Butterfly counterparts.
