15/01/2021 I Love This Blade! Review by Douglas Wruck

I've been training with frictionless antispin rubbers, settling on DMS Scandal. I was using a Dr. Neubauer Matador blade, which was working well, but I'd read great things about this one. I am so glad I gave this a try. The blade is hard and stiff, a perfect balance for the Scandal. I get some crazy spin reversal with this combination, yet control is fantastic. It took a few training sessions to get the touch on short shots, but you can return pretty much every serve short and with good placement. The thing I didn't expect is how good it's working on my forehand. I'm using Tibhar Evolution MX-P in 1.9 mm sponge thickness and I have gotten a lot of feedback that my forehand has never been better. Just a short, controlled stroke is all it takes to blast a loop that's difficult to return. Again, I had to learn to shorten up my swing, but putting in the work, it is a devastating weapon now. If you want to use frictionless anti to control the pace and set up an attack, there is no better option.
10/12/2020 Ideal for new anti rubbers Review by Douglas Wruck

I kept reading that this blade was ideal for the new frictionless anti rubbers. I have been learning how to play with Scandal (coming from previously using long pips for probably 15 years). I had been using the Dr. Neubauer Matador, which was a good blade. I decided to take a chance on the DMS Deluxe Carbon to see if the hype was real - and it was. The Matador played well, but the Deluxe Carbon took my blocking to a whole other level. And my forehand is more powerful than ever (with Tibhar Evolution MX-P). Forehand blocking is great, and I can generate really spinny serves. If you want to use the new type of anti rubber, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Love it.

The carbon layers make it stiff and fast. You need a slow pip to control it. Blocks well with inverted too, enough speed.
If you have a fast pip like D techs you will get too much speed and lose control. If you land the block it is dangerous but you get poor consistency unless you play with a really slow pip.
